Jamel Debri (Nicholas)
Jamel Debri (Nicholas), Class of 2006
Jamel Debri (nee Nicholas) excelled as a setter on the volleyball court at Pine-Richland High School. She was a four-year co-captain and named All-WPIAL and All-State as a freshman, sophomore and senior. In 2005, she was an integral member of Pine-Richland’s PIAA Championship team and was named Pennsylvania’s Gatorade Player of the Year, the 2005 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette North Hills High School Athlete of the Year and was named to PrepVolleyball.com’s list of Top 150 Senior Aces. Following graduation, Mrs. Debri played volleyball for the University of Notre Dame, serving as co-captain in her junior and senior years. While at Notre Dame, she was named First-Team All-Big East, ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District, Big East Player of the Week and AVCA All-Northeast Region, and earned the Notre Dame Leadership of Distinction Award. Mrs. Debri earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Notre Dame Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) program, taught second grade for 14 years and now works as an elementary instructional coach. She lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her husband and four children.
John Falvo
John Falvo, Class of 1976
John Falvo excelled in athletics at Richland High School, participating in football, wrestling and in track and field. He was the Rams’ first-ever PIAA track champion, earning the gold medal in shot put, and was named All-WPIAL and All-State as a running back. In 1976 he was named Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive Back on the Rams team, and was selected for the Big 33 game. Following graduation, Mr. Falvo played for the University of Pittsburgh’s national championship team, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy for six years before starting a computer software career. Mr. Falvo and his wife Diane have three children, Jessica, Josh and Julianna and her husband Jack Lindey.
Scott Heim
Scott Heim, Class of 1982
Scott Heim solidified his spot in Pine-Richland history with a PIAA State Championship in 1982 for wrestling. He was the first in school history and the only state champion until 2024. Mr. Heim’s wrestling achievements include WPIAL Champion in 1981 and 1982, PIAA State Championship appearances in 1981 (4th place) and 1980, most team points 1979-1982 and four-year varsity letter. Mr. Heim held a number of records at graduation, including most career wins, most wins in one season, fastest pin in a match (11 sec.), best record by a freshman, junior and senior, most team points scored by an individual and greatest score differential in a win.
Dale Mollenhauer
Dale Mollenhauer, Class of 2004
Dale Mollenhauer was a four-year varsity starter and two-year co-captain on the Pine-Richland High School baseball team, leading the Rams team to their first-ever WPIAL title in 2004. That year, he batted .507 with six home runs and 37 RBIs. He was named All-Section three times and Pittsburgh Terrific 10 twice. Following his senior year, Mr. Mollenhauer was drafted in the 24th round of the MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. He attended East Carolina University from 2005-2007 and was a three-year starter and named to the Conference USA Baseball All-Freshman Team. Following his junior year, Mr. Mollenhauer was drafted in the 17th round of the MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox. He played for five minor league seasons including with the White Sox from 2007-2010 and with the Orioles in 2011. He was named a Carolina League All-Star in 2009 and was a member of the Carolina League Championship team in 2011.
Roger Price
Roger Price, Class of 1967
Roger Price was a three-sport athlete at Richland High School earning varsity letters in football, basketball and track and field. At quarterback, he led the Rams to an undefeated 1965 Class A season. Leading the team in passing, punting and all-purpose yards in 1965 and 1966, Mr. Price was an All-WPIAL selection in 1966. On the basketball court from 1964-1967, he was team captain and leading scorer each year. He was named all-section in 1967 and MVP as a senior. Mr. Price was the first Ram to be recruited to the Big 10 conference and played at Purdue University where he was the leading freshman receiver. Following an injury, he transferred to Westminster College and played running back/wideout, winning 24 straight games and the 1970 NAIA Div II National Championship. He is a member of the Westminster College Hall of Fame and the All-Time Titan Football Team and was the first player from Westminster to appear in Sports Illustrated. He holds one NAIA national passing record and numerous Westminster punting and receiving records including all-time leader in yards per catch. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Price enlisted in 1972, was commissioned an armor officer in 1973 and retired in 1993. In 1996, he started a new career teaching social studies at Rochester Area School District, where he was head coach of track and field for three years and coached seven state champions and Olympian Lauryn Williams. Mr. Price and his wife Toni have two sons and five grandchildren who currently attend Pine-Richland.
2005 Girls' Volleyball Team
2005 Girls’ Volleyball Team
The 2005 Girls' Volleyball team was the first volleyball team in Pine-Richland history to earn the PIAA title. The team included seven seniors and eight underclassmen who came together that year and earned an improbable victory. Team members included Kendall Ashworth, Amber Carlson, Amber Depew, Briana Duerr, Sara Foster, Hillary Gaertner, Alyssa Gorman, Cassie Hough, Katie Jones, Anna Karr, Laura Keeley, Lisa Meister, Sarah Meister, Brianna Minnock, Melissa Morgan, Cassie Muzzonigro, Jamel Nicholas, Emily Orler, Emily Regan, Emily Roth, Alyssa Schrecengost, Andrea Scioscia, Carolyn Steger, Chrissy Steger, Allison Stitt, Nancy Taormina, Chelsea Young and Sami Yuretich, and Coach Emily Gerega.

The inductees were recognized on Friday, October 6, 2023, prior to the Pine-Richland home football game. The banquet celebration was held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Pine-Richland High School.
Michael Buterbaugh
Michael Buterbaugh—Football and Basketball, Class of 1971
Michael Buterbaugh was a two-sport athlete at Richland High School, playing football and basketball as well as also playing for community baseball teams. At quarterback, Mr. Buterbaugh was the starter for both the 1969 and 1970 Hall of Fame teams and captain of the 1970 team. He never lost a game––both teams won back-to-back WPIAL Class A championships with a 20-0 record. Mr. Buterbaugh was named to the All-WPIAL Team in 1970, WKPA Player of the Week in 1969 and 1970, Sharpsburg Herald All-Star Offensive Team in 1969 and 1970, Pittsburgh Press Outstanding Player Class A in 1970 and All-Allegheny Conference in 1970. As a basketball player, Mr. Buterbaugh was captain his senior year, graduating as the leading career scorer at Richland High School with 614 points as well as having the most career field goals with 255. Upon graduation, Mr. Buterbaugh attended Susquehanna University where he was a three-year starting quarterback. He graduated with Susquehanna’s single season passing record of 999 yards and 1,906 career total passing yards.
Bill Colpo
Bill Colpo—Football, Wrestling and Track & Field, Class of 1969
Bill Colpo graduated from Richland High School in 1969 as a three-sport athlete, having wrestled for four years, played football for three years, and competed in track and field for three years. As a freshman, Mr. Colpo won the WPIAL Section 7 Championship in the 133 lb. weight class. That same year, he also won Area 3 and the AMA-AAU Junior Olympics Championship in the 135 lb. weight class. As a senior, he was co-captain of the wrestling team (12-2) and was undefeated (14-0) in regular season matches. That year, he won the Section 7 Championship in the 138 lb. weight class for the second time. He also won the WPIAL Northern Regional Qualifier event. As a senior football player, Mr. Colpo was the leading rusher for the first seven games while only playing two and a half games due to a season-ending knee injury. After graduation, Mr. Colpo entered the medical imaging field at Shadyside Hospital and retired after a 50-year career as an imaging specialist in radiography, CT and ultrasound. Mr. Colpo joins his brother Clint in the Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame.
Matthew Crummy
Matthew Crummy—Soccer, Hockey and Track & Field, Class of 1999
Matthew Crummy was a three-sport athlete at Pine-Richland, participating in soccer, ice hockey and track and field, earning 11 varsity letters and the title of North Hills News Record Boys’ Athlete of the Year in 1999 and North Hills News Record Boys’ Soccer Player of the Year in 1998. In soccer, Mr. Crummy scored 83 career goals and 40 career assists, graduating with all-time PRHS career goals and points records. A team captain, Mr. Crummy was a four-time section all star, two-time section MVP, two-time team MVP and two-time WPIAL all star, and led the team to two PIAA tournament appearances. In hockey, Mr. Crummy helped lead the varsity team to a PIHL AA Championship in 1999 and enjoyed an undefeated JV season in 1996. He was named a WPIHL and TAHA all star, as well as team captain and MVP. He was also a two-time Penguins Cup finalist, earning 71 career goals, 74 career assists and 145 career points on the varsity team. Mr. Crummy earned 555 career points in track and field, the third highest of all-time at Pine-Richland at the time of his graduation. He was a two-time team MVP and six-time WPIAL finalist. Mr. Crummy graduated as the holder of the 110 high hurdle school record and was undefeated in dual meets between his sophomore and senior seasons. Following his time at Pine-Richland, Mr. Crummy played soccer at Carnegie Mellon University, where he was a four-time letter winner and team captain, scoring 24 career goals. He was named a University Athletic Association (UAA) conference all star and later named to the conference’s 25th anniversary CMU all-star team. Mr. Crummy was a three-time UAA conference champion and a three-time NCAA tournament qualifier. Mr. Crummy is a six-time marathon finisher and avid triathlete, completing one full Ironman and 12 half Ironman distance races. He is a Half Ironman World Championship qualifier and finisher and a 2014 USA Triathlon All American.
Kevin McCabe
Kevin McCabe—Football, Basketball and Baseball, Class of 2003
Kevin McCabe was a three-sport athlete at Pine-Richland, lettering In football, basketball and baseball. Football is where he excelled, and in his senior year, led his team to a then-school-record 12 wins and to the WPIAL title game. At the conclusion of his senior season, Mr. McCabe was selected to the AP First Team All-State and was named a Super Prep All-American. He was a two-time member of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fabulous 22 and graduated as Pine-Richland’s all-time leader in touchdown passes, yards and completions.
Upon graduation, Mr. McCabe attended The University of Virginia where he was a two-year letterman. He finished his collegiate career at California University of Pennsylvania where he led the Vulcans to a final four berth and was a finalist for the Division II Harlon Hill Trophy. Mr. McCabe played in the National Football League with the Pittsburgh Steelers and in the Arena Football League with the Cleveland Gladiators and Pittsburgh Power. Today, Mr. McCabe spends time coaching and color commentating for Friday Night Rivals WPIAL football broadcasts.
Kristen Murslack
Kristen Murslack—Swimming and Soccer, Class of 2013
Kristen Murslack was a Pine-Richland High School swimming standout, earning a PIAA championship in 2011 in the 100 meter breaststroke, along with five WPIAL championships in the 200 meter individual medley and three WPIAL championships in the 100 meter breaststroke. Following her Pine-Richland career, Ms. Murslack swam for Auburn University, participating in the SEC Championships in her senior year. After college, she spent a year coaching the Rams swim team, two seasons coaching at the University of Pittsburgh, and now is in her third year coaching the Florida Gators.

1960 Football Team
The 1960 Richland football team was the first athletic team in school history to challenge for a WPIAL playoff berth. Only the fourth football team in Rams history, they went 8-1 under coach Dick Dilts and assistant coaches Aylmer Girdwood and Ron Jenkins.

Blake Lalli
Blake Lalli—Baseball, Class of 2001
Blake Lalli excelled in baseball at Pine-Richland, leading the Rams to a 16-3 record as a senior after posting a .571 batting average. He was named to the Tribune-Review’s Terrific Nine All-Star team as a junior and senior, was a three-year letterman, and was named to the All Conference and All Area teams in his junior and senior years.
Mr. Lalli played baseball at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, from 2002-2006, where he was a two-time ASUN Conference selection (2005 and 2006) and had a .340 career batting average with 70 doubles, 27 home runs and 153 RBI. He was the first from Gardner-Webb to play in the Major League and was inducted into the Gardner-Webb Hall of Fame in 2016.He made his MLB debut on May 18, 2012, with the Chicago Cubs and also played with the Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks and Atlanta Braves. Mr. Lalli retired in 2017 and began coaching with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2018, which he continues today.
Lauren Lamendola
Lauren Lamendola—Swimming and Diving
Lauren Lamendola was a two-sport athlete at Pine-Richland High School, competing in both diving and gymnastics. She was a two-time WPIAL champion in diving and won a WPIAL team championship in gymnastics. She also won the PIAA State Championship in diving her senior year and a State Championship runner up silver medal as a junior. Ms. Lamendola was selected to the All-State Swimming and Diving Team twice and was a two-time high school All-American diver as selected by the National Swimming and Diving Coaches Association. She broke Pine-Richland High School pool and school one meter diving records and held pool records at Peters Township High School, Chatham University and East Carolina University. She won the KDKA-TV Extra Effort Award as a senior.
Ms. Lamendola went on to dive for the Gamecocks at the University of South Carolina, where she earned All SEC honors and became an NCAA Division 1 All American while competing at the NCAA Championships in 2016 on the 1-meter board. She was also an SEC medalist in the 1-meter springboard. She earned the CoSIDA Academic All-American award and was named the University of South Carolina Female Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2016.
After graduating, Ms. Lamendola attended the Medical University of South Carolina and earned a physician assistant degree and is employed as a PA in orthopedic surgery and as a women’s self-defense instructor in Charleston, where she currently resides.
Bob McCurry
Bob McCurry—Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Track & Field, Class of 1969
Bob McCurry was a four-sport athlete at Richland High School, playing football for three years, participating in shot put in track and field for three years, playing basketball for two years, and wrestling for one year. In his senior year, Mr. McCurry was an instrumental part of the football team’s 9-1 record, the best in Richland’s history at that point, leading them to a victory in the AIC Runner-Up game. That year, he led the Rams in defensive points, averaging 15 tackles per game and five fumble recoveries. Mr. MCurry was named to the AIC All-Star team, Press All-Star Team, honorable mention Big 33 and AIC Conference A MVP.
Mr. McCurry joins two of his brothers in the Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame: Jack and Paul.
Sarah Morgan Boyle
Sarah Morgan Boyle—Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field, Class of 2002
Sarah Morgan Boyle played volleyball and basketball and ran track at Pine-Richland High School. Mrs. Boyle led the Pine-Richland High School volleyball team to a WPIAL Championship in 2001, the first volleyball title in school history. She won the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Scholar-Athlete Award as a junior and was WPIAL MVP in 2001, Section MVP, Team MVP, two-time first team all-state and all WPIAL recipient. Mrs. Boyle led the team to three section champions, was voted Star Athlete by the Tribune-Review in 2001, named Player of the Year in Girls’ Volleyball by the Tribune-Review in 2001, and was voted team MVP all four years by her teammates. As a junior, Mrs. Boyle placed fifth in the high jump at the WPIAL Class AAA championships and fourth as a senior. She holds the school record in triple jump and had the second best mark in high jump for the state in 2001. She was named track and field MVP for three years.
Mrs. Boyle continued her volleyball career at the University of South Carolina where she was a four-year starter and two-time team captain for the Gamecocks. Upon graduation, she played internationally for the Klagenfurt Volleyball Club in Austria. She is a proud wife and mother of six children.
Ed Novak
Ed Novak—Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track & Field, and Cross-Country Coach, Class of 1958
Ed Novak was nominated as both an athlete and coach for Pine-Richland, participating in football, basketball, track and field and baseball at Richland High School, and coaching cross country for many years. As a student-athlete, Mr. Novak was named to the Herald Well-Rounded 1957 All-Star Football First Team and was a two-year letterman in football, basketball and baseball, and a one-year letterman in track and field. He was the original record holder at Richland High School in the 100-yard dash in 1958, which held for ten years.
Following high school, Mr. Novak was a three-year letterman in football at Slippery Rock. He was assistant coach of the 1988 Richland High School state-championship girls cross country team and head coach of the 1989 WPIAL championship girls cross country team, as well as head coach of the 1992 WPIAL championship boys cross country team. In 1989, he received the Central Catholic Invitational Class C Girls Coach’s Award. He received the 2011 Pine-Richland Track & Field Invitational Lifetime Achievement Award for his work as a boys' and girls' cross country coach. Mr. Novak retired from Pine-Richland in 1997 after a 35-year teaching career. He joins his son Jay in the Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame.
2005 Girls' Soccer Team
2005 Girls’ Soccer Team
The 2005 Girls’ Soccer team won the PIAA State Championship, the first-ever state championship for Pine-Richland girls’ soccer. They ended their regular season ranked number one in their section with an 8-3-1 record and were the number one seed in the WPIAL playoffs. In the PIAA State Championship game, Pine-Richland defeated Owen J. Roberts High School, the undefeated number one ranked team in the country, 1-0.
Team members included Jordan Baranowski, Hanna Burrows, Michelle Calabrese, Gabrielle Conlon, Karen Crouch, Kathleen Delaney, Carrie Deutsch, Katelyn Gill, Madeline Hennings, Natalie Hennings, Emily Karr, Christie Kimball, Meghan Klingenberg, Christina Knapp, Erica Kozminski, Emily Loughhead, Midori McAndrews, Mallory Miller, Kelsie Murray, Mariel Pfischner, Tori Pikur, Amanda Reed, Natalie Schaefer, Jeana Schwerer, Jenna Siegrist, Adrienne Steckel, Kelly Thill, Lindsay Thill, Taylor Whiting and Katie Wise. Coaches included Jodi Chmielewski, Steve Domville and Jamie Weaver.
Class of 2021
Pine-Richland School District recognized the inductees on Friday, October 1, 2021, prior to the Pine-Richland home football game. The five individual athletes and one team were officially inducted during a banquet celebration held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Pine-Richland High School.
Art Bosetti
Art Bosetti —Football, Track, Wrestling and Basketball, Class of 1968
Art Bossetti graduated from Pine-Richland in 1968 as a four-sport athlete, participating in football, track, wrestling and basketball. He was a captain of the football and track teams for three years, the WPIAL co-MVP as a running back in 1967 and the Rich Mar Rotary Outstanding Athlete of the Year in 1968. Mr. Bosetti set the Pine-Richland 100-meter dash record which stood from 1968-2017. He also set the school rushing record in football in 1968 with 1,298 yards.
He ended his PR career with 11 Division I scholarships and continued his playing career at Duke University.
John Herold
John Herold—Football and Track and Field, Class of 1970
John Herold was a member of the football team and the track and field team. In 1969, he was the WPIAL Class MVP of the year as a running back. He also played safety and was a standout on special teams. In track, Mr. Herold held the school record in the 220 meters with a time of 22.8 seconds. After his senior year in football, he was nominated to the Pennsylvania Big 33 All-Star Team and continued his playing career at West Virginia University under Coach Bobby Bowden.
Caitlin Molloy
Caitlin Molloy—Swimming, Class of 2009
Caitlin Molloy was a member of the PRHS Swimming Team. She served as team captain as a junior and senior and is currently #6 on the all-time points scoring list. She held team records at the time of her graduation in the 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 200 individual medleys and as a member of the 400 freestyle relay team. She was a three-time PIAA state place winner and was named All-State Honorable Mention in 2006, 2008 and 2009. In 2008, she was named All American by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association, which was the first-ever for a Pine-Richland student-athlete on the swim team.
Ms. Molloy continued her athletic career at Boston College.
Jay Novak
Jay Novak—Track & Field,Class of 1986
Jay Novak was a member of the track and field team. He was the 1986 PIAA State Champion in the 3200 meters and runner up in the 1600 meters. He was the AA WPIAL Champion in the 1600 meters in 1984 and 1986 and in the 3200 meters in 1986. In 1984 and 1985, he was the AA WPIAL Champion in Cross Country. He is the all-time record holder at Pine-Richland in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:10.9. He is currently listed in Pine-Richland’s all-time top 10 in five track events (1600 meters, 3200 meters, 800 meters, 400 meters and 4x800 meter relay). He was the all-time points scorer in track and field in his high school career and in a season.
Mr. Novak continued his athletic career at Penn State University.
Michael Van Sickle
Michael Van Sickle—Golf, Basketball and Baseball, Class of 2005
Michael Van Sickle was a three-sport athlete, participating in golf, basketball and baseball. Mr. Van Sickle was a three-time PIAA individual qualifier in golf and a two-time WPIAL golf individual champion. In 2004, he was the West Penn Golf Association Junior Player of the Year.
Mr. Van Sickle went on to play collegiately at Marquette University where he was conference player of the year in 2009. He played on the PGA Tour, Web.com Tour, Canada PGA Tour and the Latin-America PGA Tour.
1970 Football Team
1970 Football Team
The 1970 Pine-Richland Football team was the second team to earn a WPIAL Championship in school history. The team was undefeated in 1970, posted six shut-outs and only allowed two touchdowns. Quarterback Mike Buterbaugh was named the WPIAL MVP. Mike Buterbaugh, Chip Kohser, Chuck Kratz, Kyi Richardson, Norm Wirth, Ed Fleming and Paul Keil were named Class A All-Stars.

Aylmer Girdwood
Aylmer Girdwood—Head Football Coach and Community Contributor
Aylmer Girdwood was hired in 1956 as a biology teacher and served as the head football coach of the Rams for two years starting in 1962. He retired from Richland Elementary in 1982. He was the recreation director for the Pine-Richland Youth Foundation and a scoutmaster for a local Boy Scouts of America Troop in Gibsonia.
He is posthumously being inducted into the category of community contributor due to his exemplary community service and his positive influence on the athletes and youth of Pine-Richland.
Robert McDonough
Robert McDonough—Cross Country Coach
Robert McDonough began his teaching career at Richland High School in 1957. He coached both boys' and girls' cross country for 16 seasons from 1972 until his retirement in 1989. Under his leadership, the girls' cross country teams were WPIAL Class AA Champions in 1981, 1984, 1986, 1987 and 1988. The girls' cross country team also won the state PIAA championships in 1988, the first-ever state PIAA championship in Richland school history.
Mr. McDonough was posthumously inducted into the Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame.
Carrie Walker
Carrie Walker—Basketball, Class of 2000
Carrie Walker led the Pine-Richland girls' basketball team to the WPIAL Championship game in 1998. At one time, she was the Pine-Richland all-time leading scorer with more than 1,800 points, a record that stood for 17 years. During her career, she was a member of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fab 5. She continued her basketball career at Wagner College, where she was a 1,000-point scorer for the Northeast Conference Seahawks, and then played professionally with the Killarney of the Women's Irish Super League.
Ms. Walker joins her brother Neil in the Pine-Richland Athletic Fall of Fame.
Brett Warren
Brett Warren—Tennis, Class of 2002
Brett Warren was a three-time WPIAL Champion in tennis. He won the WPIAL Individual Singles Tennis Championship in 1999, 2000 and 2002. He was PIAA State Champion in 2002. He was a seven-time finalist at both the WPIAL and state level throughout his career as a Ram. He also won four boys individual singles county titles as well.
Kristen Wisse
Kristen Wisse—Basketball, Soccer and Track and Field, Class of 1998
Kristen Wisse was the true definition of the term tri-athlete. She competed in three sports for the Rams—soccer, basketball and track and field. Throughout her career as a RAM, she earned 12 varsity letters. She was the first basketball player, male or female, to score 1,000 points (1,145 total), She ranks in the top 10 all-time in the WPIAL girls soccer for goals scored in a career (133) and at one time held the school record for the girls' 800 meters.

1988 Girls Cross Country
Led by Head Coach Bob McDonough, the 1988 Pine-Richland Girls Cross Country Team was the first team in school history to ever win a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association State Championship. Senior members of that team also won both the section and WPIAL championships in 1986, 1987 and 1988.

Meghan Klingenberg
Meghan Klingenberg—Soccer, Class of 2007
Meghan Klingenberg excelled in the sport of soccer at Pine-Richland High School. Ms. Klingenberg led Pine-Richland to WPIAL Soccer Championships in 2005 and 2006. The 2005 Pine-Richland team captured the PIAA Soccer Championship. She was named to the Pennsylvania All-State Soccer Team and was selected as a Parade All-American.
Ms. Klingenberg attended the University of North Carolina where she was a four-year starter and was selected first-team All ACC. She represented the United States as a member of the Women’s National Soccer Team and went on to win the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She also represented the United States as a member of the US National Olympic Team.
She currently plays professional soccer for the Portland Thorns in the National Women’s Soccer League in Portland, Oregon.
Jack McCurry
Jack McCurry—Football and Track and Field, Class of 1967
Jack McCurry was a two-sport athlete at Richland High School where he earned six varsity letters in football and track. In 1965 and 1966, Mr. McCurry led the Rams in scoring, rushing and pass receiving. He was named MVP in both 1965 and 1966 and received all-conference and WPIAL honors.
Mr. McCurry attended Edinboro University where he received All-American honors and his team captured the 1970 Lambert Bowl. He was also named to the PSAC first-team all-conference team. Mr. McCurry was inducted into the Edinboro University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984 and named to Edinboro’s All-Time Football Team.
Mr. McCurry has coached scholastic football for 35 years and amassed 281 victories, won 16 conference titles and four WPIAL Quad A titles and a Quad A State title. His 1987 football team was selected as the number one scholastic team in the country and named National Scholastic Champions and he was selected by USA Today as the National Scholastic Football Coach of the Year. Mr. McCurry has been inducted into the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Hall of Fame, Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, WPIAL Sports Hall of Fame and the North Hills Sports Hall of Fame. Mr. McCurry and his wife Beth reside in Gibsonia.
Eugene Sullivan
Eugene Sullivan—Coach
Eugene Sullivan is being inducted into the Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame as an outstanding head football coach. Coach Sullivan led the Rams from 1964 through 1975 and captured WPIAL Football Championships in 1969 and 1970. Coach Sullivan is currently the all-time leader in football coaching wins at Pine-Richland with a total of 84 victories in his 12-year tenure.
Mr. Sullivan also served as the head football coach at Geneva College for 17 years and compiled another 76 victories. At Geneva College, Coach Sullivan is second on the school’s all-time win list.
In 2017, Coach Sullivan received a lifetime achievement award from the Pine-Richland School District. He is currently retired and now resides with his wife Ruth, in Zelienople.
Ossie Santacroce
Ossie Santacroce—Athletic Director
Ossie Santacroce served as the athletic director at Richland High School for many years. He was dedicated to the development of the Pine-Richland athletic program. His leadership was evident through his planning and organization for all interscholastic sports teams. In addition to serving as the Pine-Richland athletic director, Mr. Santacroce was a full-time industrial arts teacher. His dedication to all Pine-Richland students was demonstrated both in and out of the classroom.
Upon Mr. Santacroce’s sudden passing, the Pine-Richland School District named the athletic field at the former Richland High School site the Ossie Santacroce Stadium in his honor.
Neil Walker
Neil Walker—Baseball, Football and Basketball, Class of 2004
Neil Walker was a three-sport athlete at Pine-Richland. He participated and excelled in football, basketball and baseball and led the Rams to the state playoffs in both football and baseball. Mr. Walker received all-state honors in 2003 and 2004. He was selected as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Male Athlete of the Year in both 2003 and 2004 and the Gatorade Pennsylvania Player of the Year in 2004. He was also the number one ranked scholastic baseball catcher in the nation in 2004.
Mr. Walker was drafted in 2004 as MLB’s 11th overall selection by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He has played professionally for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, New York Mets and Miami Marlins. His professional baseball career continues to reflect athletic excellence. Mr. Walker and his family reside in the Pine-Richland School District.
