Leigh Anne Cowger, MA, LAT, ATC, LMT

Leigh Anne Cowger

Being an athletic trainer for over 20 years, Leigh Anne has spent the last 10 years at both the high school level and as the head athletic trainer for the USL’s Pittsburgh Riverhounds. She also enjoys covering overnight soccer camps, team/individual tournaments, collegiate events, races and even weekend warrior events.

Leigh Anne graduated with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science/athletic training from Adrian College (Michigan) and a Master's Degree in exercise physiology from East Tennessee State University. In 2017, she graduated from the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy, becoming a licensed massage therapist with a focus on sports massage, deep tissue and neuromuscular therapy massage. Having both licenses helps her bring her love of sports and passion for helping others together.  

Outside of work, Leigh Anne tends to stay around athletics. Whether it is attending an event as a spectator, being active outdoors or watching her son play sports, she always has a gravitation to the sports world.

Matt Mahood, MA, LAT, ATC

Matt

Matt is one of the younger athletic trainers at AHN, but he has the most familiarity with Pine-Richland. Matt is a PR graduate returning to his alma mater. Football is his favorite sport to cover, but he also works often with lacrosse. You might even see him picking up his stick and showing off his skills while taking athletes through rehab.

Matt attended Seton Hill University and graduated with a degree in exercise science and a minor in psychology. Afterwards, he attended West Chester University, earning his Master's degrees before returning to the Pittsburgh area.  

Matt also enjoys sports and being active outside of work. He enjoys exercising, biking and cheering on the Steelers. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Kelly Eberle, DAT, LAT, ATC

Kelly obtained her Doctorate in Athletic training from A.T. Still University. She focused her doctoral research on mental health initiatives in the field of sports medicine. She earned her master’s in Exercise Science and Sports Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania and her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Baldwin Wallace University.

Her love for soccer, cross country, and track and field stems from working with Duquesne University’s women’s soccer team and Slippery Rock University’s cross country and track and field teams. She has enjoyed traveling the greater Pittsburgh region and providing medical services to surrounding middle schools, high schools, youth sports and hospitals settings.

Kelly is passionate about patient centered care, mentoring future clinicians and advancing the field of athletic training. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, rock climbing, and enjoying the outdoors.

Victor Bauer MS, LAT, ATC

Vic has been a certified Athletic Trainer for over 30 years.  He got his B.S. from Mercyhurst College in 1992 and his M.S. from California University of PA in 1993.  He has worked at both the High School and college level.  He started his career at North Hills high school from 1993-1997.  After that, he spent the next  28 years working at the collegiate level, first at Duquesne University and most recently has been at Robert Morris for the past 7 years.

Vic ran cross country in college and has remained an avid endurance athlete.  He has completed over 20 marathons, 8 full Ironman triathlons, and numerous Half Ironman races.  While he no longer competes, he is still addicted to fitness training.  Vic resides in Ross township with his wife, dog and cat.  

 

Team Physicians

Dr. Edward Snell, MD

Edward Snell

Dr. Snell specializes in sports medicine, concussion therapy and biologics/stem-cell care. He treats patients with sports injuries, concussions and musculoskeletal injuries and fractures. He is experienced at providing fracture and concussion care and biologic/stem-cell injections.

Dr. Snell is director of the AHN Sports Concussion program. He is also the head team physician for the Pittsburgh Pirates as well as a member of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Concussion Committee and Biologic Committee and MLBNAC. He is a U.S. Olympic physician, a sports advisory physician with the PIAA and an orthopedic consultant for MLB Team Scotti. He served as a past board member of PA Podiatry, as a director of PCSM Division and as director of PCSM Fellowship. He is a past president of the MLB Team Physician Associates and was named Team Physician 2009 “Physician of the Year.”

Dr. Brian Mosier, MD

Brian Mosier

Dr. Mosier earned his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating with honors. He completed his orthopedic internship and residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He went on to complete a sports medicine and shoulder fellowship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.

He has submitted research abstracts and presented his findings to medical audiences around the country and is a published author of articles in medical journals.

Dr. Mosier currently serves as the co-director of the Allegheny Health Network Center for Cartilage Restoration. He has served as team physician for a number of high schools, colleges and universities, as well as for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
