Leigh Anne Cowger, MA, LAT, ATC, LMT

Being an athletic for over 20 years, Leigh Anne has experience at many levels.  Though the majority of her time has been working at the high school level she has also been the lead athletic trainer for the USL's Pittsburgh Riverhounds as well as covering overnight soccer camps, team/individual tournaments, collegiate and professional events, races, charity events and even weekend warrior events.

Leigh Anne graduated with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science/athletic training from Adrian College (Michigan) and a Master's Degree in exercise physiology from East Tennessee State University. In 2017, she graduated from the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy, becoming a licensed massage therapist with a focus on sports massage, deep tissue and neuromuscular therapy massage. Having both licenses helps her bring her love of sports and passion for helping others together.  

Outside of work, Leigh Anne tends to stay around athletics. Whether it is attending an event as a spectator, being active outdoors or watching her son play sports, she always has a gravitation to the sports world.

Victor Bauer, MS, LAT, ATC

Vic has been a certified Athletic Trainer for over 30 years.  He got his B.S. from Mercyhurst College in 1992 and his M.S. from California University of PA in 1993.  He has worked at both the High School and college level.  He started his career at North Hills high school from 1993-1997.  After that, he spent the next  28 years working at the collegiate level, first at Duquesne University and most recently has been at Robert Morris for the past 7 years.

Vic ran cross country in college and has remained an avid endurance athlete.  He has completed over 20 marathons, 8 full Ironman triathlons, and numerous Half Ironman races.  While he no longer competes, he is still addicted to fitness training.  Vic resides in Ross township with his wife, dog and cat.  

 

Bill Siegel, MS, LAT, ATC 

Bill's journey began with a dual major in Athletic Training and Comprehensive Social Studies from California University of Pennsylvania in 1985.


Early in his career, he served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska from 1985 to 1986. During this time, he had the notable opportunity to be part of the Division 1 College World Series in 1986.


Transitioning to a role encompassing both physical and academic development, he worked as a Teacher and Athletic Trainer at EC Glass High School in Lynchburg, VA from 1986 to 1993, focusing on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and student health education.


From 1993 to 1996, he broadened his expertise as a Clinical Athletic Trainer at Allegheny Valley Hospital, providing care and rehabilitation services within a hospital setting.


My career culminated in a long and impactful tenure at Freeport High School from 1996 to 2022, serving as a Teacher, Athletic Trainer, and Librarian. This role allowed him to blend my passion for sports medicine with a dedication to academic support and resource management, creating a valuable impact on students and the school community as a whole. He furthered his education during this time, earning an M.S. in Library and Information Systems from Clarion University in 2002.


Throughout his career, he worked with a wide range of individuals, including professional athletes, and maintains an avid passion for sports and fitness.

Missy Bauer, MS, LAT, ATC, CCMA

Missy has been an Athletic Trainer for over 30 years. She spent 20 years working at the high school level and the last 10 years have been with the AHN Orthapaedic Institute working with AHN Sports Medicine physcians and in the AHN Concussion Center.

Missy graduated with a BS in Athletic Training from Lock Haven University in 1992 and a MS in Sports Medicine from California University of PA in 1993. She has worked for AHN Sports Medicine for 27 years. O

Outside of work Missy is an avid quilter and donates many of her quilts to charities such as Quilts of Valor, Animal Friends, the Foster Love project and a local church ministry group that does outreach work in the rural Appalachia region.

Missy resides in Ross Twp with her husband, dog and cat. 

Lea Richir, MAT, LAT, ATC

Lea has been an Athletic Trainer with AHN Sports Medicine for 5 years. She started her career at Bishop Canevin High School, where she worked with all fall, winter, and spring sports athletes. She also works with our AHN Sports Medicine Physicians in their clinics.

Lea graduated from the accelerated Master of Athletic Training Program at Gannon University in 2020. She received an undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2019.

Outside of work, Lea loves watching and attending sporting events and being outside. She also loves visiting her family in Buffalo, NY.. GO BILLS!

Team Physicians

Dr. Edward Snell, MD

Edward Snell

Dr. Snell specializes in sports medicine, concussion therapy and biologics/stem-cell care. He treats patients with sports injuries, concussions and musculoskeletal injuries and fractures. He is experienced at providing fracture and concussion care and biologic/stem-cell injections.

Dr. Snell is director of the AHN Sports Concussion program. He is also the head team physician for the Pittsburgh Pirates as well as a member of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Concussion Committee and Biologic Committee and MLBNAC. He is a U.S. Olympic physician, a sports advisory physician with the PIAA and an orthopedic consultant for MLB Team Scotti. He served as a past board member of PA Podiatry, as a director of PCSM Division and as director of PCSM Fellowship. He is a past president of the MLB Team Physician Associates and was named Team Physician 2009 “Physician of the Year.”

Dr. Brian Mosier, MD

Brian Mosier

Dr. Mosier earned his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating with honors. He completed his orthopedic internship and residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He went on to complete a sports medicine and shoulder fellowship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.

He has submitted research abstracts and presented his findings to medical audiences around the country and is a published author of articles in medical journals.

Dr. Mosier currently serves as the co-director of the Allegheny Health Network Center for Cartilage Restoration. He has served as team physician for a number of high schools, colleges and universities, as well as for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
