Jared Urich

Women's Coach

Coach Jared Urich began coaching Pine-Richland Rowing in 2018, with his first year as head coach of the women's program coming in 2024. Urich previously coached the varsity women and the novice team during his first year with Pine-Richland. Boats and athletes coached by Urich have earned 16 First Place finishes, 11 Second Place finishes and 11 Third Place finishes, as well as a qualification for SRAA Scholastic Nationals Championship in 2022 in the Women’s JV 4+.

Sarah Heastings

Men's Coach

Coach Sarah Heastings has been coaching at Pine-Richland Rowing since 2016. She has worked with all ages within the organization, serving as the Head Coach of the Middle School Developmental Program from 2020-2024. One of Heastings' greatest accomplishments has been transforming the Developmental Team from a practice squad to a competitive powerhouse within the ever-changing Pittsburgh middle school rowing landscape. Since assuming the role of Men's Varsity Head Coach in 2024, she aims to continue the men's team's excellence and hopes to implement a few new policies/procedures designed to put long-term athlete development at the forefront of the team's focus. 

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Heastings began her rowing career at North Allegheny Senior High School. At NARA, she was a 4-year scholar athlete and varsity letterman, as well as captain. Heastings was recruited to continue her rowing career at the Division I level by Robert Morris University, where she was a member of their varsity squad for three years. During her tenure with the Colonials, she secured three grand final finishes at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. Off the water, Heastings earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Sport Communication and a minor in Sport Management. She now serves as an Account Coordinator at a local commercial real estate brokerage firm which services Fortune 500 companies across the nation.
