Mike Bashioum teaches health & physical education at Pine-Richland High School. Mike graduated from Yough High School in 2009. During his time at Yough, he played both football and basketball earning all-conference and all-section honors in both sports. He was a captain of both team during the 2008-2009 seasons. In football he helped his team to conference titles in 2005, 2006, and 2008.
Mike continued his athletic career at the collegiate level playing football, specifically quarterback, for the Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops. He received his bachelor’s degree in Health & Physical Education from Bethany College in 2013, and graduated with his master’s degree in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University in 2017.
He coached during his time at his previous school district, Bethlehem-Center. He was an Assistant High School Girls Basketball Coach for 5 seasons, Assistant Middle School Girls Basketball Coach for 4 seasons, and Assistant High School Softball Coach for 3 seasons. He settled into head coaching positions at the middle school level as Head Football Coach for 5 seasons, and Head Boys Basketball Coach for 4 seasons.
During the unified bocce team's 1st season under Mike, the team as a whole went 5-0 during the regular season. Both Pine-Richland teams had winning records with one team going into the sectional playoffs as the 2-seed. The goal moving forward is to continue having 2 teams, and for both of those teams to make the sectional playoffs! Hopefully from there we can have a team win sectionals, and move on to the regional playoffs where we can win that and make our way to Hershey to compete in the state playoffs.
